Wow. I know remaking movies is popular, but did Star Wars Episode I need to be "re-imagined" so soon? With The Last Airbender, M. Night Shyamalan finally proves that he is more oblivious to his own failings Read the article

commented KNIGHT AND DAY is insane fun; Cruise is back (JeffreyVC)
Long absence, I know. Wish there was a way I could automatically post stuff over via RSS or something. Either way, gonna do my best to return to commission here. Hopefully all is well. Any updates to the site I should check out?

In an earlier article, I compared Knight and Day to Killers. I'm glad I bet on Cruise. Except for a slight slip involving a couch, he seems to have a lock on his career. He knows his strengths and Read the article

And so is Watson. This dynamic duo is a lot closer than we thought. While they used to solve mysteries together and share witty lines of dialogue in Arthur Conan Doyle's stories, Holmes and Watson now Read the article

commented Shock and awe: separating the beauty from the hype in AVATAR (ChrisKnipp)
Nice review. Your scores don't seem like they match your words though, not that scores mean too much. Still, you did give it a 10 on innovativeness and bashed it for being, well, uninovative. I completely agree with some of your assessments. Here's a link to my review. I should get it into the Filmaster system. I don't think I fell victim to hype at all. I just thoroughly enjoyed it. http://www.cinemasoldier.com/articles/2009/12/20/avatar-is-a-truly-visceral-experience-go-see-it.html

Hey, great article. I hadn't thought of the wipes and camera that way. What do you think about the violence in the film? It is one of the most brutal films I have seen.

There's a lot of hype about Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire. It was a huge winner at the Cannes and Sundance film festivals in January/February and the buzz has only grown louder since. Read the article

commented Taking Woodstock finds magic behind the spectacle (JeffreyVC)
That's great. We tried to bring Woodstock back in the 90s, but it always turned violent. Glad you guys could make it work. Yeah, I just enjoyed this movie, much like I enjoyed Adventureland (though this isn't a romantic movie). It's subtle and just pulls you in slowly. I have patience.

commented The Beautiful Days of Summer (Billy_Costigan)
I agree with your review. I think the reason its so much better than a typical romantic comedy (some reviewer may have said this) is that in this movie, you know from the beginning that this relationship isn't going to work out, but Tom has no idea. So we have to battle with our own desires for them to get together as well as watch Tom slowly realize its over himself. In a typical rom com, you have two leads, a series of linear situations, and they declare love at the end (after a fight). This

Really? See everyone gets down on this movie, but I really liked it. No, it wasn't another Superbad, liked they marketed it as, but it was one of the most honest movies I've seen in a while. I really enjoyed it.
